The book Hebrew Base 2 is intended for learners of Hebrew at level B and is a direct continuation of the book Hebrew Base 1 . The book allows learners to continue to deepen and consolidate their understanding and knowledge of the rich and dynamic Hebrew language. This book is not just a collection of rules and words, but a gateway to fascinating worlds of content and expressions of the language as a living, breathing tool of communication. The idea behind the book is a spiral and integrative learning around central and diverse topics. Each of the eight chapters constitutes an independent learning unit and at the same time also connects with the previous chapters by reviewing the vocabulary and linguistic and grammatical topics studied in them. Each chapter contains thought-provoking texts and discussion, and provides a natural context for acquiring vocabulary and understanding linguistic structures. The book balances the development of the four language skills (reading, writing, speaking and listening) with the study and assimilation of the basics of grammar and syntax with an emphasis on understanding and active use of the language and not just passive knowledge of rules.

Want to practice, deepen, and consolidate what you learned in the Hebrew Base 2 ? The workbook is much more than a workbook of exercises. The booklet includes study of each verb topic for the intermediate level as well as practice for each chapter of the book, ensuring a deep understanding and fluent use of the language.

The book Hebrew Base 1 is intended for learners who are taking their first steps in the Hebrew language after becoming familiar with the letters of the alphabet. The book was written with an understanding of the challenges of learning a new language from scratch, and therefore provides a solid and broad foundation for the language while inviting you on a journey into a world of topics, content, culture, people, and places. The main idea behind the book is modular, gradual, and spiral learning. The book starts from the basics and progresses at a measured and systematic pace. It is organized around topics from everyday life such as: acquaintances, family, studies, work, and more. All of these provide a natural and meaningful context for language acquisition. Each chapter builds on the vocabulary and grammatical structures learned in the chapters preceding it, with constant repetition that allows for internalization and consolidation of knowledge. The book emphasizes balanced development of all four language skills, especially adapted for beginners. Grammar is not taught as a list of dry rules, but as a useful and essential tool for creating basic communication. The goal is to lead learners from a passive knowledge of words to active and confident use of the language, from the earliest stages.

The workbook is much more than a workbook of exercises. The booklet includes learning and practicing all the letters of the alphabet from the basics, and in addition – learning each verb topic to a beginner level. The booklet accompanies you hand in hand, step by step, throughout everything you learned in the book, and gives you the opportunity to deepen your practice in order to know better, understand better, and better master everything you learned in the book.

Asher Shkedi's book Words of Meaning , first published in 2003, immediately took a prominent place on the bookshelves of researchers and students in the social and behavioral sciences. To this day, it is a "textbook" in many courses at academic institutions, and it was even adopted as a guide for a research course at the Open University. Over the years, the book has been reprinted many times and has even been published in English. More Words of meaning adds many issues not discussed in previous editions, most notably guidance on using qualitative methodology to build theory grounded in data. Readers will also find extensive reference to issues of research quality, with an emphasis on the boundary between research and non-research. This is the most comprehensive book in Hebrew on qualitative research. The book includes theoretical and practical guidance for conducting qualitative research using various approaches and research types. It is accompanied by diagrams that clarify the research processes, and it includes examples from many studies. In recent years, studies that combine quantitative and qualitative methodologies have become very popular and are often conducted by researchers who define themselves as quantitative researchers. Conducting these studies requires great methodological rigor. The book is therefore also aimed at the general public who are interested, who have not yet been exposed to qualitative research and identify research with statistics and a large number of subjects, and are unaware of the inherent quality of qualitative studies, even though the population of subjects in them is smaller.

Over the past two decades, advanced technologies and space missions have completely transformed our understanding of potential life beyond Earth. The resulting field, astrobiology, has become a multidisciplinary scientific discipline, encompassing many of the natural sciences and having implications for many areas of research. This book presents an introduction and overview of astrobiology. It deals with a wide range of fields, from the search for signs of life on planets in our solar system, to the discovery of exoplanets in distant solar systems and assessing the potential for life there. The book is based on the course of the same name that the author taught for more than two decades at the Hebrew University, and the course recorded on YouTube in the Cornerstones program , which has accumulated tens of thousands of views. The book is accessible not only to students of natural sciences, but to any reader who wants to learn about and understand the fascinating possibilities of life on other worlds.

The Italian commedia dell’arte troupes roamed across Europe for two hundred years, captivating wide and diverse audiences. The performances of the commedia dell’arte were improvised, as the actors executed on stage a concise outline of a play, called "scenario". This book presents, for the first time in Hebrew translation, complete scenarios written by one of the greatest men of the Italian Renaissance theater, Flaminio Scala. The scenarios are accompanied by annotations and a comprehensive essay that reviews Scala’s life and work, and presents his scenario as a perfect recipe for comic improvisation. The book will therefore be of interest to theatre enthusiasts and scholars alike, and will provide directors, actors, and acting students with new and refreshing tools for staging comedies.

If a large rock had collapsed in a desert or a tree had fallen in the heart of a distant forest several hundred miles away from living beings, would it have made a sound upon its fall? Different people will give different answers to this ancient question. Objectively, some will say that a sound would have been heard because sound does not exist only in the mind of the listener. Subjectively, some would say that a sound requires someone to listen to it. What is correct? Is this complex answer related to the essence of sound? It's All in the Sound investigates the phenomenon of sound and tries to understand it and answer, among other things, the above questions. It was written to meet the needs of students and teachers, with a desire to update the teaching of physics and fill the shortage of textbooks in this field, which is associated with teaching the subject of sound waves. The gradual development of the concept of sound is discussed in the book by building structured experimental illustrations, as well as mathematical expressions describing this miraculous phenomenon. The illustrations were chosen so that a curious reader could repeat most of the experiments in a home environment without the need for special laboratory equipment. Even for readers unfamiliar with the basics of physical mathematics that describe sound, this book may provide a unique experience and open up a new window to understanding physics.

The New Arabic-Hebrew Dictionary is a comprehensive reference of the Arabic language throughout history, with a focus on its use in spoken and written media. Given Arabic's rich literary tradition spanning over 1,400 years, the language naturally incorporates words and expressions rooted in ancient literary strata, including the Qur'an, classical poetry, proverbs, the Hadith, jurisprudential literature, Adab literature, and historical texts. Terms and expressions from the realm of Islamic theology and jurisprudence, which were considered archaic 50 or 60 years ago, have regained prominence with the rise of fundamentalist Islam in the 1970s. This dictionary offers translations and explanations for these terms as well. After publishing the full dictionary in a large, 700-page edition, we decided it would be useful to publish a more concise version—smaller, portable, and easier to handle. This edition differs from the full dictionary in that it omits examples and comments, as well as archaic entries from ancient poetry, the Hadith, and jurisprudential literature. Since the early 2000s, Israeli television drama has become a highly sought-after product in the global TV market. Israel is indeed an intense and dynamic place that offers drama creators a wealth of diverse and compelling stories. In 1971, three years after the establishment of Israeli television, the first drama series in Hebrew Hedva and Shlomik aired—still in black and white—based on the literary novel by Aharon Megged (1953). The evolution of television drama in Israeli television from its inception has not been thoroughly documented until now. This book aims to fill that gap and provide readers with tools for watching, interpreting, and understanding television series in general, and Israeli ones in particular . The story of Israeli television drama in this book is set within broad socio-political and cultural contexts. Drama consistently engages with reality and responds to it in various ways, even if not always overtly. It also addresses the foundational myths of Israeli identity—sometimes reinforcing them, other times questioning or subverting them. Like other popular cultures, it often fulfills desires or offers imagined solutions to the contradictions underlying these myths . Through the prism of Israeli television drama, this book reveals a self-portrait of the people and society—both as they were and as they might've like to be seen .

Mithabrim: Syntax for Higher Levels is a practice, comprehension and expression booklet on syntax topics. The booklet is intended for advanced students according to the curriculum of the Hebrew Teaching Unit at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The booklet has two purposes. The first of which is the acquisition and practice of syntactic components and structures at the advanced levels. The topics are practiced in several ways: open exercises, closed exercises, conversions, rewrites. Some of the grammatical topics are preceded by a short grammatical explanation for that section, and at the end of the booklet there are tables related to the syntactic topics as well as solutions to the closed exercises. The second goal of Mithabrim is to cultivate students' comprehension and expression skills with the help of reading passages (essays, articles, etc.). The reading sections, which incorporate the new syntactic topic, deal with different and diverse contents. This is the infrastructure for the activity of reading comprehension and the activity of oral or written expression. For each section, both comprehension questions that relate to the content of the section and expression questions that encourage discussion and conversation on the topic have been added.
