Over 300 judgments handed down by the Israeli courts, particularly the Supreme Court, have been summarized by Judge Asher Felix Landau and published in The Jerusalem Post's "Law Report, " since 1982. This volume contains a selection of the weekly column chosen by members of the Harry and Michael Sacher Institute for Legislative Research and Comparative Law, associated with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem's Faculty of Law. They are intended to give a general outline of the problems dealt with by Israel's courts. Particular attention has been given to the specific difficulties involved in creating a modern legal system, incorporating the principles of Jewish Law and yet appropriate to the county's needs today.
