Dr. Dana Kaplan is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Political Science, and Communication at the Open University of Israel. Her research lies at the intersection of cultural class analysis, food studies and critical sexuality studies, with a focus on how symbolic and social boundaries are shaped within neoliberal capitalism. She has also been awarded two research grants from the Israel Science Foundation. She is the co-author, with Eva Illouz, of What is Sexual Capital? (Polity, 2022), a book that has been translated into seven languages.
