Abu Ibrahim Yitzhak ben Barun lived in Spain in the second half of the eleventh century and the beginning of the twelfth century. There is evidence that he was a friend of Moshe Ibn Ezra and Yehuda Halevi. As far as is known, the only work he wrote was "Kitab al-Mu'azzna". The work was written in Arabic in Hebrew letters in the last decade of the eleventh century or the decade before.
