Allon Gal is Emeritus Professor, Modern Jewish History, Ben-Gurion University. He is the founder and Co-Director of the Center for the Study of North American Jewry. Professor Gal is the author of numerous articles and important books, among them: David Ben-Gurion and the American Alignment for a Jewish State, published by Indiana University Press and the Magnes Press; Editor, Envisioning Israel: The Changing Ideals and Images of North American Jews, published by Magnes Press and Wayne State University Press. He is the winner of famed Israeli and international prizes, serves on the editorial board of major professional journals and on the scholarly councill of professional associations in Israel, the United Kingdom and the United States.
