Benjamin Akzin (Riga 1904-Jerusalem 1985). Professor of Political Science and Constitutional Law at the Hebrew University. One of the founders and Dean of its Faculty of Law and erector of its Department of Political Science. Also a founder of the University of Haifa, and its first Rector. He received doctorates from the universities of Vienna, Paris and Harvard. He was an expert on the theory of law and its affinity to political reality and its expression in constitution law. He was the recipient of the Israel Prize in Law in 1967.
