ז'ורז' הנסל

Hansel is professor emeritus of mathematics and computer science at the University of Rouen. He is Emmanuel Levinas' son-in-law. In parallel with his scientific work, he has been leading a circle of Jewish thought studies for several decades. He has written various articles in this field and made several noted contributions at the yearly meetings of the “French-speaking Jewish intellectuals”. He published Explorations talmudiques (Paris, Odile Jacob, 1998), a book translated into Hebrew under the title Haqirot Talmudiot (Kineret Zmora-Bitan, Dvir, 2010). He also published, with Christian Ciocan, Levinas Concordance (Springer, Dordrecht, 2005), a sum providing access to the 28 books written by Emmanuel Levinas.
