ירמיהו יובל


Yirmiyahu Yovel is professor Emeritus in the Department of Philosophy at the Hebrew University and the New School for Social Research in New York, an internationally renowned expert in the study of the philosophy of modern times. He has contributed to a renewed understanding of the philosophy of Kant, Spinoza and Hegel. He was also a journalist. 
 Yovel has a BA of Philosophy at the Hebrew University, MA of Philosophy, and training in philosophy at the Sorbonne with Paul Ricœur, private study circles, training at Princeton University with Stuart Hampshire, Walter Kaufmann, Richard Rorty, Gregory Vlastos, Carl Hempel and Isaiah Berlin.
Doctorate - "Kant's metaphysics, its methods and its branches" (Guide: Nathan Rotenstreich).

Yovel is a laureate of the Israel Prize in philosophy (2000) and officier of the French order of the Palme académique.
