The Sala-Manca Group (Lea Mauas and Diego Rotman) is a group of independent Jerusalem-based artists that has been creating in different fields - performance, video, installation, and new media - since 2000. Sal-Manca published Hearat Shulaym (Footnote): Independent Quarterly for Contemporary Art and Literature (2001-2007) and curated and produced Heara events – multidisciplinary events organized in independently with no commercial or official sponsors, among other projects. In 2009, the group founded the Mamuta Art and Media Center. Lea Mauas is the director and co-curator of the Mamuta Art and Research Center at the Hansen House. She is a lecturer at the School of Visual Theater. The Sala-Manca Group is the recipient of the Ministry of Culture Recognition Prize for Visual Arts for 2017.
