Professor Margalit Shilo, emeritus of the Department of Land of Israel Studies and Archaeology at Bar-Ilan University, is a pioneer in the field of writing and teaching the history of Jewish women in the Land of Israel from the mid-19th century to the establishment of the state. Shilo is the author and editor of numerous books and about a hundred articles, most of which focus on the diverse and significant work of the new Hebrew women in the Land of Israel.
