Dr. Roee Goldshmidt is a lecturer at the Open University. His research focuses on social and intellectual aspects of Jewish history in the modern period, mainly concerning Kabbalah and Hasidism. In recent studies he examined how mystical traditions originating from the Balkans and North Africa were received and assimilated by Eastern European Jews.
