Ruth Berman is an Israeli linguist, Professor Emeritus at Tel Aviv University, where she held the "Language Across the Lifespan" Chair, a member of the Israeli National Academy of Sciences since 2013, recipient of the Israel Prize for Linguistics 2012 (2022) and recipient of the EMT Award for Linguistics (2012). Her research focuses on the morphology, syntax, and lexicon of Modern Hebrew, mother tongue acquisition from an interlingual perspective, late language development during the school years, the development of narrative discourse ability, and text production skills from childhood through adolescence.
