תמיר שורק

Tamir Sorek earned his Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and he currently teaches at Cornell University. He studies nationalism, citizenship, and ethnicity in the context of popular culture and collective memory. His work brings together historical, sociological, and anthropological approaches and methods and his studies have been published in major academic journals, including The British Journal of Sociology, Ethnic and Racial Studies, International Journal of Middle East Studies, and Nations and Nationalism. The English version of his book on Arab soccer in Israel will be published in 2007 by Cambridge University Press.
