In Holiness in the Eye of the Storm: The Judaism and Israeliness of the Western Wall, 1967–2000 , Kobi Cohen-Hattab and Doron Bar offer a detailed exploration of the Western Wall plaza’s evolution in the late twentieth century. Through a return to the first - and failed - encounter in the late 1970s, between phenomenology depicting phenomena in the light of human experience and architectural discourse, Edna Langenthal offers a new reading of discourse, embracing the thought of philosopher Martin Heidegger and discussing the influence of the architectural theoretician Christian Norberg-Schulz, who in her opinion missed Heidegger's contribution to her understanding. To emphasize the potential inherent in Heidegger's thought in understanding the question of place and the possibilities of dwelling in it, the author discusses the meaning of the poetic as a constitutive axis in understanding key concepts in contemporary architectural discourse. But the poetic dimension, for her, cannot exist without the ethical dimension. Through a study of the thought of Heidegger's student and critic, the philosopher Emanuel Levinas, the structure that connects an affinity between the ethical and the home and the possibilities of settling in it.

This book exhibits a collection of projects designed by the renown Israeli architecture studio, Chyutin Architects, during the period of 1980-2010. The studio was founded by Bracha Chyutin and Michael Chyutin in 1978. It specializes in the architectural design of public buildings, residential spaces, interior design and urban planning. Chyutin Architects has won many open national competitions for public buildings including the Court of Justice in Haifa (1994); Mane Katz Museum in Haifa (2000); Court of Justice in Jerusalem (2007); and Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem (2010) . It is responsible for the Master plans of several academic campuses including the Van-Leer Institute in Jerusalem (2008), and the new campus for the University of Ben Gurion at Beer Sheva (2013), both winning competitions. The studio has won several competitions for academic buildings including the Senate Building in Ben-Gurion University in Beer-Sheva (1994); The Tel-Aviv College (1969); Student House in Haifa University (2002); Polonsky Academy in Jerusalem (2010) and others. In recognition of its architectural achievements, the studio has been awarded the Israeli Architects’ Association Award (1993); The 'Ot-Hitzuv' Award (2005; 2009; 2011); the AIA Academy of Architecture for Justice (AAJ) (2008); the Rechter Award (1996;2006); Dezeen's top ten: Parks and Gardens (2011), and the Architizer A+ Award for the Higher Education Institutions & Research Facilities category (2013). The firm's Designs have been displayed in numerous national and international architectural exhibitions and have been published in the daily press, professional journals and books throughout the world. Bracha Chyutin and Michael Chyutin have also been engaged in academic activity in most of Israel ’s universities. They have published a great number of papers and studies about architecture and urban planning. They have co-authored various books: Architecture and Utopia-The Israeli Experiment (Asghat 2007), Architecture for Justice ( Tel Aviv Museum 2006 ), and Architecture of Ben Gurion University 1990-2006 (BGU Press 2008).

The first comprehensive academic study of the architectural planning of the kibbutzim and the moshavim, the utopian agricultural settlements that were created in Eretz-Israel during the 20th century. The book discusses the connection between the ideology and the architecture of these settlements in the broad historical context of the orientations intent on creating utopian societies and planning ideal settlements to house them. It presents the ideas on the architectural planning of ideal settlements that appear in the writings of social visionaries such as the prophet Ezekiel, Plato, Fourier, Owen, Marx and Engels, and of architects such as Vitruvius, Ledoux and Le Corbusier, and examines the extent of their creative imagination and their influence on the ways of thinking of the fathers of Zionist settlement such as Tabenkin and Eliezer Yaffe and architects of the kibbutzim and the moshavim, such as Kauffmann, Sharon and Bickels. The book presents an analysis of the spatial layouts of settlement models as related to the various social ideological movements that existed in Eretz-Israel. It surveys the development of these settlement models in light of the extreme political, economic and technological changes that took place in the world and in Israel in the course of the century, and examines the influences of the changes in the ideology on the changes in the spatial layouts of the settlements. The authors, Bracha and Michael Chyutin, are leading Israeli architects who have won numerous architectural competitions. They have been responsible for the construction of a number of iconic public buildings, among them the Court of Law Building in Haifa, the Givatayim Theater, and university buildings such as the Senate Building at Beer Sheva University and the Students Center at Haifa University. They have been awarded prestigious prizes, among them the Rechter Prize (twice) and the Israel Design Award (twice), for buildings they have planned.

Designed by Bracha and Michael Chyutin, the Haifa Court House houses the District Court, the Magistrate’s Court, and several other judicial instances. It contains 75 courtrooms, 100 judges’ chambers, numerous offices, a library and a restaurant on a built area of 90,000 square meters, of which 40,000 are parking facilities occupying a site area of 10,000 square meters. The design was chosen from some sixty proposals submitted to a public competition in 1994. The construction was completed in 2004. Bracha Chyutin studied Architecture at the Technion in Haifa from 1972 to 1977. Michael Chyutin studied Civil Engineering and Architecture at the Technion in Haifa from 1959 to 1975, obtaining a Ph.D. in Architecture. Chyutin Architects, a leading architectural firm in Israel, have won many architectural competitions and designed numerous public buildings in Israel.

Bernini revisited is a collection of nine essays on seldom addressed aspects of the work of Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Most of the texts deal with sculpture and the related drawings but there are some references to Bernini's paintings and observations on his architectural projects. The topics include a study of the personal mode of Bernini's drawing, the optical foreshortening phenomena and their artistic remedies, aspects of laterality and meaning of gestures, the figures' physiognomic typology and their facial expressions, self portraits and role-portraits and graphic and sculptural caricatures.

The history of the planning and archutecture of the Edmond J. Safra campus in Givat Ram is an important chapter bothin the development of the Hebrew University in Jerusalemand in the shaping of the physical-urban structure of the city from the early 1920s until now. The University concieved and initiated the production of this book to research, learn and understand and document cultural, designer and architectural values of the Givat Ram campus. The University Campus is an open-air museum of modern Israeli architecture , landscaping and art. Its townplanning, as well as the individual buildings built over 50 years showcase the most significant styles in Israeli architecture. The book is in album format.
