Raz Kupferman (1965) is a professor of mathematics at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. His activity in mathematical education started when his children reached school age. He inaugurated a professional development program for elementary school mathematics teachers, through which he became acquainted with teachers’ professional needs. Elementary School mathematics was written in response to these needs.
