שלמה וינר

Professor Shlomo Vinner (1937) completed his Ph.D. thesis in Mathematical Logic and Model theory under the supervision of Prof. Azriel Levy at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.  In 1976 he joint the department of Science Teaching there, where he taught mathematics and investigated the domain of mathematics education.  He served there as a department head during two cadences. In 1997 he joint Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in order to start there a Master Program in Science Teaching.  Today he serves as the head of The Master Program in Mathematics education at the elementary level. 
Vinner started to publish his poems at the end of the sixties.  In 1972 he published his first book "For Few Hours Only" (Eked).  His second book ("Tremor and Earth") appeared in 1986 (Keter) and his third book ("Suddenly Life") was published by Hakibbutz Hameuchad in 1992.  His poems were published in some anthologies in Israel and abroad (one of them is Malka Shaked's "I'll play you forever – The Bible in Modern Hebrew Poetry").  Poems of his were translated into several languages and collection of his poems appeared in the USA and Britain in two books:  "For Few Hours Only" and "Jerusalem as she is."
