The variety of subjects dealt with in this volume, reflects the wide scope of the department's interests. The order in which they appear tries to follow the natural sequence of the criminal drama: pre-sentencing stages; implications and consequences of the sentence; aspects of clinical criminology; some penological problems; and the statistical evaluation of certain characteristics of crime in this country.
