This book is the first part of a textbook of the basics of literary Arabic. The book's purpose is to impart reading and writing skills in Arabic for the beginner student. In a relatively short time, the student will be able to read simple texts and easy articles from the Arabic press. The vocabulary introduced is broad and varied. It includes words and expressions from daily life as well as journalistic terms. The teaching method of this book is based on the theory that Arabic should be taught in Arabic: the student is asked to change sentences, to complete sentences, ask and answer questions in Arabic, and spell sentences in Arabic in order to create a flow in expression (oral and written), to deepen the proficiency of the language and assimilate the vocabulary. There is an Arabic-Hebrew-Arabic dictionary at the end of the book.
